Wine
Lethbridge Chardonnay is sourced mostly from the Suma Park Vineyard on the Bellarine Peninsula, with a small parcel of fruit from the Yan Yan Gurg Vineyard in western Geelong.
The fruit is handpicked and whole bunch pressed to new French oak puncheons. The juice retains full solids to undergo fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by natural malolactic fermentation.
The wine is then matured on gross lees in French oak barrels, one third new and the remainder one year old. After about a year the final blend is assembled and bottled.
Straw yellow, Lethbridge Chardonnay has fresh stone fruit flavours with spicy, nutty oak and a zesty acidity. Cellaring potential is five years.
